This is a picture of my Father. He fought in WWII & Korean war. In between the wars he trained the new recruits.
Navy for 38 years of service to his country mostly on battleships. One was the USS Wisconsin (during WWII) which is now docked in Norfork VA. He loved serving his country, it was in his blood. He was my grandfather by birth & retired from the service while living in Alaska to move to Texas to adopt me when I was 9 mths old & raise me & my brother. Other wise he would of stayed in the service till the day he died. So to me that makes him that more special, that he gave up what he loved doing to love me when he didn't really have too. I miss him so much, but he was such a wonderful dad although he has been gone now for 20 yrs. I still think of him every day. His words of wisdom & all that he taught me I still apply to this day. |
